The exercise was to create harmony using repetition in a design. I've never actually used repetition in a design before, however, after completing this exercise, I can see how it could work well as a design element.

Oh my goodness - I could eat these posters up. You've done a great job of making repetition work (and that adorable dog certainly helps the message pop!). Which of the three is your favorite? I love the first one, and if repetition weren't a requirement for the exercise, I'd say the image on the left at the top center of the page would definitely be ideal.
